MP’s son robbed of valuables

 The son of a Parliamentarian and General Secretary of a  political party, who was in the company of his fiancée in a motorcar  parked near the Grama Niladhari office at Layard’s Road, Bambalapitiya  had  been threatened with death at dagger point and robbed his gold  chain valued about Rs. 60,000 and cash Rs.3,000, by an unidentified  individual on Monday evening (03).  

 He told police the suspect riding on a bicycle approached  him and asked for money and when he replied in the negative the suspect  thrust a kris knife against his neck and took away his gold chain and  cash Rs.3,000 on the dashboard.   

 Police said they had not yet received any information on  the robber, and that they would examine the CCTV recordings in the area  to identify him.  
The Crime Branch of Bambalapitiya Police are conducting further investigations.
