Man arrested for misbehaving with cow, sent to psychiatrist

• The Magistrate ordered the Prison Superintendent, Mahara Prisons to refer the suspect to a psychiatrist at the Ragama Teaching Hospital

 A 19 year old young man suspected of performing a sexual act on a cow tethered in a land in Ihala Weediyawatta in Weeragula in Gampaha was taken into custody by Weeragula police. He was produced before Gampaha Actg. Magistrate Mahesh Herath and remanded till January 23. 

 Police told court that they arrested the suspect during investigations of the complaint received from the land owner who eye witnessed the incident and that he admitted guilt in his statement.   

 The magistrate ordered the Prison Superintendent, Mahara Prisons to refer the suspect to a psychiatrist at the Ragama Teaching Hospital and produce him on that date with the medical report.
