Maris Stella student bags Silver at International Math. Olympiad

Master Thenuka Senith Fernando, a student from Maris Stella College Negombo, has brought pride to Sri Lanka by winning a Silver medal at the International Mathematics Olympiad held in Turkey.

The competition took place on May 31st at Istanbul Technical University, where Thenuka excelled against top math. students from around the world.  

Thenuka’s achievement reflects the dedicated efforts of his mentors and the rigorous training provided by the Sri Lanka Mathematics Council. He expressed gratitude to Rev. Bro. Sunanda Alwis, the principal of Maris Stella College, and the school’s Old Boys’ Association for their unwavering support. Special thanks were also extended to Dr. Chanakya Wijerathne, Chief Director of the Sri Lanka Mathematics Council, for his invaluable guidance.
