Met. Dept. warns of severe lightning

The Meteorology Department warned of thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning at several places in Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara Districts during the afternoon or night.   

The Department said heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places.   People were requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
