Month-old infant falls from moving trishaw on Colombo – Hatton highway

  • Child had fallen off when  the mother was asleep
  • Child found unharmed after thorough examination by doctors

 A month-old infant child that slipped off mother’s lap and  fell on the road from a moving trishaw at Gurumetiya in Kitulgala on  Colombo – Hatton highway had miraculously escaped unhurt.  


 The child’s mother with several others from Negombo had  been on their way back after a trip to Nuwara Eliya and Kataragama on  Thursday night by trishaw and on the way the child had fallen off when  the mother was asleep.  

 However, a group of individuals in a motorcar that followed  the trishaw had noticed the child fallen on the road and taken the  child to Kitulgala Police.   


 The police had immediately rushed the child to Kitulgala  Hospital. Meanwhile, the child’s mother and others in the group who  came in search of the child, learnt from the residents of the area  that he was admitted to the hospital had proceeded to Kitulgala Hospital.  The child, under the care of his mother, was transferred to Karawanella  Base Hospital.  


 However, the doctors had examined the child to find him unhurt.
