More than 75 questioned over Schaffter’s murder

Statements from more than 75 persons including almost all the family members of the murdered businessman Dinesh Schaffter had been recorded so far, the Police said yesterday. 
Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa however said the suspects involved in the murder had not yet been identified.

“Further statements are being recorded based on the new information received through these testimonies. So far, no suspect has been identified in this regard,” he said. 

Meanwhile, footage of CCTV and telephone recordings including Schaffter’s wife, Shaffter’s Executive Officer, the cemetery worker as well as an office worker are still being analysed. He said the Police were now analysing mobile phone data and bank accounts of Schaffter as well as 16 other bank accounts based on two NIC number details obtained by the Police.
