Moreton Cricket Brisbane to Sri Lanka on tour after three-year lapse

Moreton Cricket Brisbane will be undertaking their 19th Tour of Sri Lanka after a lapse of the years, having been interrupted by Covid-19 epidemic in the year 2020. 


This year in partnership with the Royal Thomian Golfers Guild, the charity project undertaken was to raise funds for the college of Anaesthesialogists Sri Lanka. 


At a fund raising ceremony held on the February 25 at South Brisbane Cricket Club a sum of USD 13,000 was raised. The chief guest at the function was Brendon Gibson, President of The South Brisbane District Cricket Club.  Moreton Cricket will be arriving in Sri Lanka with 120 players and supporters and playing games in Colombo, Kandy and Galle. The Moreton Cricket tour this year would be one of the biggest cricket tours to have visited Sri Lanka bringing much wanted tourist revenue to the island. 


The tour is organised by Baba Sourjah, old boy of Royal College, who represented CH and FC and Havelock Sports Club at rugby in the 1960s and is a Cricket Australia Level 3 High Performance Coach.

The tour will be Managed by Athula Unantenne who Captained Trinity College at Cricket and represented the college at Rugby. 


The tour is handled by Shiyam Mohamed and Asian Adventure.
