An employee attached to the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) has died due to an alleged infection developed after being administered a drug via cannula, sources confirmed to Daily Mirror.
The victim who is around 33 years old had been admitted to the Panadura Hospital to obtain treatment for fever a couple of days ago where he had been administered a drug via cannula. Subsequently, he had died following an alleged infection.
However, it is yet to be ascertained the actual cause of death and therefore, the hospital management has launched an investigation into the incident, according to hospital sources.
The deceased was a management assistant, who had been suffering from several chronic diseases such as heart attacks, asthma etc.
