NPP heading for clear parliamentary majority

The National People’s Power ( NPP) led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is heading for a clear parliamentary majority according to results issued by the time this edition went to press last night .  
The postal votes of Colombo, Badulla, Monaragala, Trincomalee, Hambantota, Ratnapura and Kalutara had been released. The NPP had secured a clear majority even exceeding 80 percent in some instances.   
The result of the Galle electorate had also been issued by the time this edition went to press.  
The NPP appeared to have gained in its vote base compared to the Presidential election whereas the Samagi Jana Balawegaya which trails behind found its chunk of votes dwindling.
