The National People’s Power (NPP) would bring in a new Constitution under its rule, which would incorporate a lasting solution to the national issue agreed by all parties, NPP MP Vijitha Herath said yesterday.

He told a news conference that the solution to the national issue would be introduced with the agreement after discussions with all parties and that discussions in that regard have not yet started.

Responding to a question on the meeting with NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake and TNA representatives in Jaffna, he said the NPP would discuss with all parties who are concerned with bringing in a lasting solution to the national issue and other issues and come to an agreement.

He said the Constitution in Sri Lanka is outdated and added that future NPP government would draft a new Constitution suitable to the country.
