Narcotic smuggler from Uganda arrested at BIA

An Ugandan passenger who had attempted to smuggle a consignment of Cocaine by swallowing it in capsules was arrested by the Police Anti Narcotic Unit in Katunayake International Airport.

The Anti- Narcotic unit arrested the 31 suspect on information received from international intelligence sources on his arrival.  

He had left Kampala in Uganda and proceeded to Sri Lanka through Doha. The suspect was referred to Negombo hospital where he purged a stock of 450 grams of Cocaine in capsules. However the scan test indicated that he had a similar stock yet to be purged.
