National agri policy to be introduced - Amaraweera

 Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera said a national policy to uplift the agricultural sector and the farmer would be introduced in January.  Addressing a meeting at Nochchiyagama in Anuradhapura to distribute machinery and equipment to 189 maize cultivators, he said the general practice of changing policies and plans of the previous government with the change of government should be abolished and that he would introduce a national police on agriculture that would continue under successive governments.
