Never proposed removal of Defence Secretary: Ruwan

UNP Deputy Leader and Presidential Advisor Ruwan Wijewardene said he never proposed the removal of Defence Secretary Kamal Gunaratne and replacing him with Former Army Commander Mahesh Senanayake. 

“I have never proposed the removal of the current defence secretary though there were reports on certain websites that I have made such a proposal,” Mr. Wijewardene said in his latest Facebook post.  

“The story appeared without any sources though my name was dragged and no one who published the news item contacted me at any time,” he added.  He also said he has nothing to do with defence at the moment.
