Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) Chairman Janaka Ratnayake said that even though he returned to the country, his office was not open for him.
Addressing the media, he said he was out of the country for several days on a personal visit.

Though they came to his office, the office was sealed and it was not removed, he said. The Kollupitiya Police sealed the office on February 16 upon a court order based on a complaint to prevent the loss or tampering of documents of the state value.

Ratnayaka had arrived at the office at 12.30 pm as instructed by the police. When he  entered  the elevator, two scene of crime officers (SOCO) were seen leaving the premises, saying they would return soon.

Ratnayake went to his office  to find that it was sealed and seal was not removed,  two policemen were there to guard it.

He waited for some time for the policemen to come back, and called the Kollupitiya police. “The OIC of the Kollupitiya police told me that there are no officers to open the door,” Ratnayake said.
