Nominations to be called for Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha elections in October

The Election Commission will call for elections to Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha during the first week of October, this year.  

The relevant gazette notification has already been issued. It is a local body with 28 members- 17 elected and 11 nominated on the list. There are 341 local authorities. However, the election to Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha was conducted separately in the past. The last election in Elpitiya was conducted on October 15, 2019. 

 
Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) secured power at that time.
