The Election Commission yesterday announced that the postal voting in the local government elections has been postponed until further notice due to difficulties in obtaining printed ballot papers.

Accordingly, the commission stated that postal voting will not be conducted on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of this month. The distribution of postal ballot papers was scheduled to take place today (15).

“The decision was taken due to “unavoidable reasons,” the statement said. It also said that it will schedule another date for distributing LG election postal voting ballot papers.

Meanwhile, the Government Printer has in writing informed the Election Commission that printing of ballot papers cannot go ahead without due payments.
