RW to have an informal meeting with Joe Biden in New York?

President Ranil Wickremesinghe is likely to have an informal meeting with his US counterpart Joe Biden, a Spokesman from the President’s office said yesterday.

  “The informal meeting is likely to take place during the reception which is to be held for state leaders during the UN general Assembly. However President Wickremesinghe had not sought a one to one meeting with President Biden,” the spokesman said.  

President Wickremesinghe reached New York yesterday to attend the 78th session of UN General Assembly. The sessions will be on from today to September 21. Mr. Wickremesinghe is expected to address the session on September 21. 

 
Mr, Wickremesinghe travelled to New York after attending the G77 summit in Cuba last week.
