Rangiripura gets new police post funded by public

The new police post at Rangiripura in Monaragala was declared open by Monaragala Division DIG J.S.Weerasuriya.  

Addressing the ceremony, he said the people in Rangiripura area had been facing the threat of narcotic-related crimes and that the new police post was established on their request to control it.  

It was of significance that the project costing Rs. 01 million had been funded by Rangiripura Welfare and Funeral Aid Society and the public. The DIG stressed the need for public cooperation in this manner to control illegal activities.  

Monaragala SSP Buddhi Udugamasuriya, and HQI P.S.C.Sanjeewa were present at the occasion.
