Ranil slams Harini, asks her if she knows SL’s constitution

• It is not necessary to obtain the approval of officials to increase salaries
• Mr. Wickremesinghe questioned as to what has become of the NPP led trade unions who fought for the rights of public servants

One wonders as to where Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya has learnt the constitution, Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe said.   

“Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya has said it is necessary to obtain the approval of officials for the cabinet to make decisions on salary hike for public servants. One wonders where she has learnt about the constitution. “It looks as if she is not aware of it. I can teach her if she wants to learn,” Wickremesinghe said at a gathering in Pannala.   

Also, Mr Wickremesinghe questioned as to what has become of the NPP led trade unions who fought for the rights of public servants during the past years.
