Latest Police investigations have revealed new details regarding the recovery of an illegally assembled luxury vehicle from the home of Shashi Prabha Ratwatte, the wife of former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte. The vehicle, which was found during a police raid on October 26, is believed to have been used by Lohan for an extended period.

Police confirmed that Mr. Ratwatte arrived at the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission on October 7, 2021, driving the vehicle, which bore the number plate KY 6864. Investigations have since uncovered that this number plate was registered to a vehicle owned by Mr. Ratwatte’s former wife.

In connection with the case, Ms. Shashi Prabha Ratwatte has been remanded until November 7 after appearing before Nugegoda Magistrate Ruvini Jayawardena yesterday. She was produced in court by an attorney-at-law following her arrest related to the discovery of the unregistered luxury vehicle at her residence in Mirihana.
