Renovation of A’pura KKS railway track is to begin on January 5th : Bandula

• The cost of the project is said to be Rs.33 Billion

The renovation of Anuradhapura Kankasanthurai railway track is to begin on January 5 2023, Minister of Transport Bandula Gunawardene said.

The cost of the project is said to be Rs 33.Billion.   

The contract to construct the railway track has been awarded to an Indian company   

 The project is to be completed within five months. The train from Anuradhapura to Kankasanthurai is expected to run 100kmph after the completion.
