SJB will support genuine efforts to revive the economic crisis

• Asks as to why the government  had failed to bring in an anti-corruption bill despite the assurances  given

Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) will support effective and  genuine efforts to revive the economic crisis, it’s General Secretary  Ranjith Madduma Bandara said yesterday.   

Madduma Bandara told a media conference that his party  would support effective and genuine efforts to revive the nation but  ruled out anticipated crossovers from SJB to the government. “Crossovers will be in the other direction,” he added. 

  The SJB General Secretary asked as to why the government  had failed to bring in an anti-corruption bill despite the assurances  given by the government that the best anti-corruption Bill will be  brought in soon. “We wonder as to why the government had failed to  bring in an anti-corruption Bill as we are ready to support an effective  piece of legislation of that nature,” he said.   

Also, he questioned the fate of 100 files on corrupt persons. “We also wonder on the government stand on the private member’s Bill  which I have presented to Parliament,” he said in this regard.
