SLRC TV presenter claims she was suspended for social media post

• Several attempts to contact SLRC officials for a comment have failed

The Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) has suspended the services of a TV presenter Parami Ranasinghe allegedly over a social media post criticising the President, the presenter said.

 Following the suspicion, the TV presenter Parami in a Facebook post has confirmed her termination, stating that the reason for the suspension was the post on the President that she shared in her personal Facebook page.

Several attempts to contact the SLRC official for a comment failed. Accordingly, Parami is not a permanent employee of the SLRC but working on a freelance basis, who conducts several main programmes such as ‘Rividina Arunalla, Nuga Sevana, Guru Thalawa etc,
