SLTB bus goes down precipice at Induruwa 12 passengers injured

At least 12 passengers had been injured and admitted to Gilimale Hospital when a SLTB bus transporting a group of pilgrims veered off the road and went down a 30 feet deep precipice at Induruwa on Ratnapura – Palabathgala road yesterday afternoon.   

Investigations revealed that the bus had 45 passengers on board. It was one of the special SLTB buses operating on Kuruvita- Erathna Sri Pada route for the convenience of the pilgrims.   

Traffic Branch is conducting further investigations on the instructions of OIC Palabathgala Police CI Mahinda Gunaratne.
