STF busts 139 grams of heroin

A suspected drug peddler who had in his possession 50.139 grams of heroin was arrested by the STF in Thirukkovil during a raid in the Saindamaradu area in Kalmunai.

They had carried out the raid on intelligence received from the Pottuvil Intelligence Unit of the STF.

The STF had seized a motorcar, a van, a cellular phone and weighing equipment used in the contraband trade.

The suspect was handed over to the Kalmunai Police and was produced before Kalmunai Magistrate M.S. Samsudeen who detained the suspect for further questioning.A team of STF officers under Actg. Commanding Officer Thirukkovil STF Camp IP H.A.G. Samarasinha had carried out the raid.
