Sajith urges government to conduct investigations into recent incidents

Member of Parliament Sajith Premadasa over the weekend urged the government to conduct independent investigations into the recent incident regarding the abduction of an employee attached to the Swiss embassy and the victimization of public servants.    

. Making a special statement Mr Premadasa urged the government to conduct investigations on the incidents and not to subject public servants to political victimization.   


 “We urge the government to conduct investigations into these incidents and to create the atmosphere which it pledged to build during elections” Mr Premadasa said in his statement.   
 He said these incidents reminds of the dark era which existed before 2015.   


 Also he said the abduction of an employee attached to Swiss Embassy in Sri Lanka had resulted in the nation earning a black mark in its history of diplomatic ties.   


 “ It is not fair to criticize a newly elected government as sufficient time should be given to fulfil the promises in accordance with the mandate it received but one cannot keep silent considering the recent happenings which were scary” he added.
