Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa yesterday urged all opposition MPs in the select Committee appointed to look into how Sri Lanka went into bankruptcy to resign from it so the opposition could conduct its own probe.

“ The select Committee appointed by the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena is of no use as it is chaired by the General Secretary of the party which took the country to bankruptcy.. Therefore I urged all opposition members of the committee to resign from it. Let us have our own probe with regard to the matter, “Premadasa told a meeting of Opposition parties..
Meanwhile National Peoples Power Member of the select Committee had already resigned from the select Committee appointed by the Speaker. SJB members are also expected to resign shortly.
