Schoolboy killed by wild elephant in Anuradhapura

 A schoolboy from Thisawewa had been trampled to death last morning in the  Anuradhapura sacred city.  


 The victim M.Rashim Mohamed Razeed 17 who had recently passed the GCE Ordinary Level examination was seeking admission to the Advance Level class in a Maha Vidyalaya at the time of his tragic death.   

 Investigation revealed that he was on his way back on a motorcycle after taking a relative to bus stand in the early hours of last morning when a wild elephant frequenting the road had attacked him.   


 He had run away leaving the motorcycle on the road after seeing a wild elephant eating a coconut plant by the roadside and had been trampled to death by another elephant which had been in the vicinity.

  
 Anuradhapura police are conducting further investigations.
