Schools reopen today after Friday’s closure

The special holiday that has been allowed to all public and private schools last Friday (9), on account of the prevailing bad weather in the country, will reopen today, the Education Ministry said.

 Accordingly, all public and private schools and Catholic schools will reopen today.

The Education Ministry issued a statement on Thursday stating that after inquiries were made from the Meteorology Department and the Disaster Management Centre, a decision was reached to declare a special school holiday last Friday.
