Scientist killed in road accident in Horana

A scientist of the Sri Lanka Institute of Nanotechnology (SLINTEC) was killed in a road accident at Kumbuka in Gonapola, Horana last night.  

Police said the 37-year old scientist, a resident of Gonapola who was returning home by car, died after his car hit a concrete post at a road barrier.

 His car had toppled.   It was reported that he died after being admitted to the Horana Hospital due to damages to his spinal cord.   He was bringing flowers for a traditional ‘Kiri Danaya’ of his new born child when the accident happened.  

 The Moragahahena police are conducting further investigations.
