Sepal Amarasinghe remanded till January 10 for defaming Dalada Maligawa

Sepal Amarasinghe who was arrested for making statements defaming the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic or Dalada Maligawa, was ordered to be remanded until January 10 by the Colombo Additional Magistrate. 

He was arrested for making defamatory remarks on Dalada Maligawa, a sacred place of worship of the Buddhists.  Earlier, the MPs across the political divide of Parliament called for action against him. Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe vowed to institute legal action against him.
