Special traffic plan for Dawoodi Bohra convention

The police have announced a special traffic plan in conjunction with the Dawoodi Bohra convention scheduled to be held from July 7 to 16 at the Bambalapitiya Bohra Mosque and the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre.   


According to Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa, several byroads entering Galle Road, Colombo Fort and marine drive in Bambalapitiya  will be closed during the following periods: 8:00 am to 11:00 am, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm on the specified dates.   


Further, traffic restrictions will be imposed in the surrounding areas where the convention and conference are taking place.   


“The specific roads subject to closure will be announced in due course,” said the Police spokesman.   
Approximately 15,000 members of the Bohra community from various countries are expected to attend the event.
