Whilst revealing that the government has managed to strike a deal with the international sovereign bond (ISB) holders on debt restructuring, independent candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe yesterday said Sri Lanka will be out of bankruptcy soon.

He said a final discussion with ISB holders will be signed today.

Speaking during his final rally in Grandpass ,  Mr. Wickremesinghe said the task now is to maintain economic stability. “ I am facing this election after completing my task. Sri Lanka wil be out of bankuptcy soon. We now have to build a new economy . I will briong down  the cost of living soon,” he said.

He said no one can change the debt restructuring agreements. “ IMF will stop the flow of funds to Sri Lanka if debt restructuring agreements are changed, “ Mr. Wickremesinghe said.
“ NPP candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake has said an administration led by him will continue same economic policies which we have adopted. Why should anyone vote for them if they are going to follow us. We our selves can continue it. SJB candidate Sajith Premadasa has avoided going to a public debate held by a TV channel. Can such a person run a country? “ he questioned.

He also pledged to introduce smart agriculture, develop tourism industry and to bring down the cost of living.
