Suspect wanted in connection with double murder in Avissawella arrested

One of the suspects wanted in connection with the double murder at Thalduwa in Avissawella on September 20 was arrested yesterday by the STF (Special Task Force).

The gunmen had shot four passengers travelling by trishaw on their way to attend a funeral, killing two of them.
Police said the suspect was a 21-year-old young man from Thalduwa who was a close confidante of an underworld gangster popularly known as “Manna Ramesh” now hiding in a foreign country and that he had transported the gunmen to the target and back to a hideout.

The suspect had in his possession six grams of heroin at the time of arrest.
