Termites eat their way through dollar notes belonging to one-time presidential candidate

Termites have chewed their way through US dollar notes with an exchange value of Rs.250 million received by a certain opposition politician who was a presidential candidate at one time.  

It is believed that this politician has kept these currency notes in a safe after receiving them for his campaign financing.  

An informed source said fresh dollar notes had been issued to him in place of the damaged ones recently as a favour for him to play a role in the upcoming presidential elections. He has received such money as donations from local and foreign sources.  Following a court order, these currency notes had been entrusted to him.
