The Netherlands welcomes steps taken for reconciliation: Ambassador

Engaging  with different stakeholders including the Tamil diaspora is important and a step in the right direction.

The Ambassador of the Netherlands, Bonnie Horbach, said in an interview with Daily Mirror that her country welcomes whatever steps Sri Lanka takes, however small they are or still in the primary stage, to achieve meaningful reconciliation that addresses the genuine concerns of citizens of all faiths and ethnicities. 

She said engaging with different stakeholders including the Tamil diaspora is important and a step in the right direction.

Commenting on the economic situation, she said her country is ready to help. She added that the economic recovery would be challenging.
