The inaugural flight of Edelweiss Airlines lands at BIA

 The inaugural flight of a new airline carrying 238 tourists from Switzerland arrived at Katunayake last morning.   
 The airbus of the Edelweiss Airline landed in Katunayake airport at 9.20am yesterday. The airport officials had made arrangements to accord a warm welcome with water salute.   


The flight from Zurich arriving at Katunayaka every Friday morning is scheduled to leave for Zurich through Maldives. From January to May next year the airline would operate winter season flights on Friday and Sunday,   
 Meanwhile three flights carrying tourists from three cities in Poland arrived to Katunayake last morning. Among them was the inaugural flight of Enter Airline from Warsaw which arrived at 10.40am.   


 Inter Air Airline is scheduled to operate three flight a day from Warsaw , Poznam and Katowice in Poland to Katunayake once every ten days till March 31st , 2025.   


 The tourists were welcomed on arrival by Asst. Directors of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Masitha Thabrew, Shashika Jayaweera and Manager of the Tourism Promotion Bureau in Airport Wasana Kumari.
