Three Governors removed

• It is speculated that some UNPers will be appointed as Governors

President Ranil Wickremesinghe has removed three Governors from their posts.   

The President’s office said Governor of Northern Province Jeewan Thiyagarajah, Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampath and Governor of North Western Province Wasantha Karannagoda were removed from their posts. New Governors for the three provinces are expected to be appointed on Wednesday.   

It is speculated that some UNPers will be appointed as Governors.
