Three arrested for abducting and gang-raping schoolgirl in Kattankudy

• She was abducted while she was en route to meet boyfriend

Three individuals have been arrested by police for allegedly abducting, assaulting and gang-raping a 15-year-old schoolgirl in Kattankudy.

Police said the suspects reportedly abducted the girl while she was en route to meet her boyfriend in the area.  

The perpetrators allegedly transported her to the Ariyampati area last Friday, where she was gang-raped.
The arrest of the suspects followed a formal complaint lodged with the police. Investigations revealed that the arrested suspects are addicted to drugs.

The suspects, aged between 26 and 32 years and residents of Ariampathi, were scheduled to be produced before
court yesterday.
