The Commissioner of the Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has advised vehicle users to transfer vehicle ownership to their names as it is crucial to avoid complications when issuing fine notices based on offender identification through the CCTV system.

DMT Commissioner General Nishantha Anuruddha Weerasingha told the Daily Mirror that if vehicle ownerships are not transferred to the active user, the charge sheets will be sent to the address of the previous vehicle owner.

Therefore, the commissioner urged vehicle users to transfer ownership to the active user, aiming to avoid inconveniencing the previous vehicle owner.
