Tremor in Beruwala

 A tremor of 3.7 magnitude was experienced yesterday in several Grama Niladhari areas in Beruwala division.   

 Residents of the area said the tremor took place between 1 and 1.10 p.m. and that it caused a vibration of the roofs.   

 Assistant Director Kalutara District Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili said the tremor had been experienced in several areas including Polkotuwa, Payagala, Pinidiyamulla and Weniwelketiya.   He said the tremor had lasted about 30 seconds but no casualties had been reported.
