A tussle is emerging for the opposition leader’s post between three prominent politicians, MP Nimal Lanza said over the weekend.

“The incumbent opposition leader Sajith Premadasa wants to hold on to the post while both Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Namal Rajapaksa are trying to secure the post, MP Lanza said during a rally at Hyde Park.

“ Both Samagi Jana Balawegaya(SJB) and National Peoples Power (NPP) are claiming that they are capable of stabilising the nation. However they have failed to come up with a programme to rebuild the nation. How can one build up the nation without a plan?” he questioned.

“ We are glad to note the recent remark made by Dissanayake after he returned from India. He said NPP will also change it stance just like India. We are glad that they have understood the reality after decades. However we still recall how people were killed for using Indian goods. We have heard that Anura Kumara Dissanayake had not spoken a word during his Indian tour. He had not addressed a single meeting during his Indian tour “ he added.

MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said giving false promises to the people is not going to work today.” We have to speak the truth , “ he said.
The MPs who have come together to form a new political alliance said the new alliance will be a formidable forces by May this year.
