Two Sri Lankans held in fake passport scam in Hyderabad

During the ongoing probe into Sri Lankan refugees illegally obtaining Indian passports, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials on Saturday arrested two Sri Lankans and an Indian agent who provided the passports.

CID officials said the Sri Lankans — Varuniya Thiruvanavukkarasu and Sanjika — were arrested along with Priya Dharmalingam from Tamil Nadu.  

“Priya acted as a mediator and facilitated 21 Sri Lankan nationals in obtaining Indian passports in connivance with passport agents,” police said. (TOI)
