Two senior citizens die fainting in fuel queues

Two senior citizens who fainted while standing in fuel queues in Kandy and Kadawatha have died on admission to the hospital over the weekend. 

Police said a 71-year-old man waiting in a kerosene queue in Kandy Town on Saturday has died on admission to hospital after fainting while standing in a fuel queue.


The deceased was identified as a resident of Katugastota.


Another incident was reported from Makola where, a 70-year-old man, a three-wheeler driver had fainted while standing in a fuel queue in Kadawatha and died on admission to the Ragama hospital.


Meanwhile, People in many parts of the country were seen queuing up in large numbers to buy gas, kerosene, and fuel.
