Two underworld figures reportedly netted in Malaysia

Two prominent underworld criminals, Midigama Chuti and Jile, who allegedly planned to launch a commando style attack to help two underworld figures Harak Kata and Kudu Salindu escape from Criminal Investigation Department custody, were reportedly arrested in Malaysia, on November 25, informed sources said.   

A senior police officer said that although no official information has been received so far, necessary measures are being taken to confirm the fact and if they have been arrested for real, to deport them to Sri Lanka.   

According to the initial investigations, both the suspects had stayed in Dubai for some time. Later, intelligence agencies had discovered that they had gone to Malaysia from Dubai.  Sources reveal that two of them are currently engaged in an effort to extradite themselves to Dubai with the help of lawyers.
