Two youngsters killed after mound collapses on house

An 18-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy had been killed after a boulder, along with an mound of earth, collapsed on a house due to bad weather and rain at Dunuwila in Alawathugoda, Kandy yesterday morning.

The Police said three children and their parents, who were buried under the mound of earth, had been rescued and admitted to the Jambugaspitiya Divisional Hospital.
However, the boy and the girl, who were among the injured, died on admission.

The Police said another injured girl child was transferred to Peradeniya Hospital for further treatment.

Alawathugoda Police are conducting investigations.
