Vegetable Christmas tree emerges from Galle Face

A group of decorators are making final arrangements to a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree made out of about 2,000 living vegetable plants ranging from cabbage, spinach, ladies’ fingers, green chillies and lettuce which is setup close to the Presidential Secretariat yesterday. The concept introduced in a bid to promote vegetable farming amongst the public living in cities was organized by Softlogic Insurance PLC.
