Wanted underworld gangster arrested at BIA

An underworld gangster who had fled to the United Arab  Emirates after killing a leader of a rival group popularly known as  “Gampaha Pas Podda” was arrested last morning at the Bandaranaike International Airport when he returned to the country.   

 The 28-year-old suspect Etampola Arachchilage Avishka  Madusanka was a resident of Kimbulapitiya in Negombo and a wanted  criminal. Underworld gangster “Pas Podda|” had been killed in July  2022.  

 Gampaha Magistrate had imposed a ban on his travel aboard  and last morning, the Immigration and Emigration Department officials  identified him on arrival and arrested him.   
 He was handed over to the Gampaha Police for further  investigation after OIC Airport Police CI S.P.J. Silva held the  preliminary inquiry and recorded the suspect’s statement.
