Youth killed , others suffer electric shocks during boat ride in flooded area

Tragedy struck in Bulathsinghala when a boat carrying 20 individuals, who were exploring the flooded area in Bulathsinhala on Monday evening, came into contact with a high tension line.   

The incident resulted in the death of one youth, while the others suffered  electric shocks but fortunately escaped without any harm, according to the Police.  

The deceased was operating the boat and holding a rudder handle when he accidentally fell into the flood after coming into contact with an overhead power line.  
The individuals onboard the boat were also affected by the electric shock, causing them to fall inside the vessel, but fortunately, they did not sustain any injuries, the Police said.
