A resident monk of Peradeniya Edanduwawa Rajamaha Viharaya died after a mound of earth collapsed on him.
Investigations revealed that Ven. Mediwaka Dhammarathana Thera (19) had been attending a Pooja when the mound of earth came down.

The Ven. Thera who received serious injuries had passed away on admission to Peradeniya Teaching Hospital.
Peradeniya Police are conducting further investigations.
